Execution of Ebrahim Memari in Sepidar Prison, Ahvaz

The execution sentence of Ebrahim Memari, charged with “premeditated murder,” was carried out in Sepidar Prison in Ahvaz.

According to the Campaign for the Defense of Political and Civil Prisoners, Ebrahim Memari, a 36-year-old man from Abadan, who had been sentenced to death by the judiciary four years ago on the charge of “premeditated murder,” was executed on Wednesday, April 9, in Sepidar Prison, Ahvaz.

In 2008, two of Ebrahim Memari’s brothers were also executed on drug-related charges in the central prison of Kermanshah.

The family’s efforts to obtain consent from the victim’s family for clemency were unsuccessful.

At the time of this report, this execution has not been announced by domestic media or the judiciary.
