Sentencing of Vahab Khediripour, a Member of the Justice-Seeking Families, to Ten Months in Prison in Mahabad

Vahab Khediripour, an Iranian Kurd from Mahabad and a member of the justice-seeking families, has been sentenced to ten months of discretionary imprisonment.

According to the Campaign for the Defense of Political and Civil Prisoners, Vahab Khediripour, 32, was sentenced by the Revolutionary Court of Mahabad to 10 months in prison on charges of “collaboration with an opposition party.”

He was temporarily released from Mahabad Central Prison on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, after 21 days of detention, upon posting a 500 million tomans bail, pending the conclusion of judicial proceedings.

Vahab Khediripour is married and a father of two. He is the cousin of Shomal Khediripour, one of those killed during the “Woman, Life, Freedom” uprising. He was arrested on January 29, 2025, after being summoned by the Intelligence Office in Mahabad.
