Vida Mohammadi, a resident of Tehran, has been sentenced to 4 years and 8 months of imprisonment.
According to the Campaign for the Defense of Political and Civil Prisoners, Vida Mohammadi was sentenced by Branch 26 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court, presided over by Judge Iman Afshari, to 4 years in prison on charges of “assembly and collusion to commit crimes against national security” and 8 months for “propaganda against the regime.” Additionally, her mobile phone was confiscated.
One-fortieth of this sentence is enforceable, while the execution of the remaining prison term has been suspended for five years.
Ms. Mohammadi was summoned in November 2023 to the First Branch of the Tehran Security Prosecutor’s Office and was released on 200 million tomans bail after being informed of her charges. She was later summoned on January 25, 2025, for trial at Branch 26 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court, presided over by Judge Iman Afshari.
