Four protesting students from the University of Tehran were arrested by IRGC Intelligence agents during student demonstrations and taken to an undisclosed location.
According to the Campaign for the Defense of Political and Civil Prisoners, four students from the University of Tehran were arrested on Friday, February 15, 2025 during protests against the killing of a fellow student. The arrests were carried out with violence and beatings by IRGC Intelligence forces.
During the protest, another student suffered a broken nose due to a severe blow from security forces.
The students had gathered to protest the murder of Amir Mohammad Khaleqi, an undergraduate business management student at the University of Tehran. Khaleqi was killed on the night of Wednesday, February 12, 2025 while returning to his dormitory.
According to the United Students Telegram channel, the identities of two of the arrested students have been confirmed as Amir Hossein Gowhari and Bakhshan Ali Mohammadi.
The number of detained students may potentially increase.
