Benyamin Rahimpour, Civil Activist, Arrested by Sanandaj Security Forces

Benyamin Rahimpour, an Iranian Kurd, was violently arrested by security forces and transferred to the IRGC Intelligence Detention Center in Sanandaj.

According to the Campaign for the Defense of Political and Civil Prisoners, on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, security forces stormed Rahimpour’s workplace, arresting him without presenting any legal warrant, and transferred him to the IRGC Intelligence Detention Center in Sanandaj.

Informed sources reported that several IRGC intelligence agents created an atmosphere of fear and intimidation, insulted family members, and, under the threat of firearms, searched his home and confiscated the surveillance camera from his shop.

Benyamin Rahimpour, 33 years old and originally from the village of “Avihang” near Sanandaj, had previously been arrested on May 4, 2020, along with his brother Tareq Rahimpour, during a raid by security forces on their family home on charges of “collaboration with a Kurdish party.”
