A Questioning Session Held for Six Labor and Environmental Activists in Sanandaj Court

A questioning session for six labor and environmental activists was held in the Second Branch of the Prosecutor’s Office of the General and Revolutionary Court in Sanandaj. After being informed of the charges against them, the activists were released on bail.

According to the Campaign for the Defense of Political and Civil Prisoners, the cross-examination session took place on January 5, 2025. The activists—Eqbal Shabani, Fardin Miraki, Seyyed Khaled Hosseini, Sheith Amani, Sosan Razani, and Jamal Asadi—defended themselves against charges of “propaganda against the regime” and “disturbing public opinion.”

These individuals had recently been summoned to the court with official notifications, along with Farshid Abdollahi.

Eqbal Shabani, Fardin Miraki, Seyyed Khaled Hosseini, and Sheith Amani are labor activists in Sanandaj, while Sosan Razani and Jamal Asadi are environmental activists from the city.

Last week, these activists were summoned to the police intelligence office in Sanandaj and interrogated regarding their participation in the funeral of the mother of a protest victim, as well as for their professional and civic activities.
