Death of Two Iranian Baloch Citizens Following Police Shooting in Sarbisheh

On Saturday, October 26, 2024, two Iranian Baloch citizens lost their lives after police forces opened fire on a car with Sistan and Baluchestan license plates in the Sarbisheh area.

According to the Campaign for the Defense of Political and Civil Prisoners, the incident occurred on Saturday night, when FARAJA police forces in Sarbisheh County fired upon the vehicle without any prior warning, resulting in the deaths of the two passengers.

Local sources identified one of the victims as 34-year-old Iraj Sarani Mokher, a married father of two from Sarbisheh. The identity of the second victim remains unknown as of this report.

Witnesses stated that one passenger died instantly from gunshot wounds, while the other, severely injured, succumbed to injuries after being transported to Sarbisheh Hospital. Both bodies have since been placed in the Sarbisheh morgue.

Family members have reportedly received no clear answers from police regarding the cause of the shooting.

Authorities claim that narcotics were found in the vehicle, though no further details have been provided. The incident has sparked reactions, with the victims’ families demanding a thorough and transparent investigation.
