Over the course of Monday, September 16, Wednesday, September 18, Monday, September 23, and Wednesday, September 25, the death sentences of at least 14 prisoners, including two Afghan nationals, were carried out in Shiraz Central Prison (Adelabad).
According to the Campaign for the Defense of Political and Civil Prisoners, these individuals were executed for charges related to “drug offenses” and “premeditated murder.” The Iran Human Rights Organization has confirmed that in the past two weeks, at least 19 prisoners have been executed in this prison.
The report from the Iran Human Rights Organization indicates that on Monday, September 16, five men, including two Afghan nationals, were executed. Three of these prisoners, identified as Amir Naderzadeh, Sajad Fadaei, and Abdullah Abdulsamad (an Afghan national), had been sentenced to death (Qisas) for “premeditated murder.” Behzad Bagheri and Mobasher (an Afghan national) were executed on drug-related charges.
On Wednesday, September 18, four more prisoners were executed in this prison. One of them, Shahin Salami, was sentenced to death for “premeditated murder,” while three others, identified as Sepehr Norani, Taher Arzomand, and Kamran Heidari, were sentenced to death for drug-related offenses.
Additionally, on Monday, September 23, three more prisoners were executed for “premeditated murder.” They were identified as Hassan Nejati, Mohammadreza Nejati, and Fardin Ahmadi.
On Wednesday, September 25, two more prisoners were executed. One of them, Rasoul Shanbedi, was sentenced to death for drug-related charges, and the other, Ayoub (Akbar) Saadikhani, was sentenced to death (Qisas) for “premeditated murder.”
A source stated that Akbar Saadi was executed for killing two individuals in a street fight, and Rasoul Shanbedi was executed for drug offenses. Additionally, Fardin Ahmadi, who had been convicted of murder during a street fight, was taken from ward 4 of Adelabad Prison to the gallows.
As of the time of reporting, the execution of these prisoners has not been announced by Iran’s domestic media or official sources.
