On Sunday, September 8, 2024, security forces raided the home of Hadis Najafi’s parents. Hadis Najafi was one of the victims of the Woman Life Freedom nationwide protests.
According to the Campaign for the Defense of Political and Civil Prisoners, during the raid, security forces accessed and inspected the computers and mobile phones of the family members.
Afsoon Najafi, Hadis Najafi’s sister who lives abroad, reported that the security forces also carried a warrant for her arrest. Hadis Najafi, 20 years old, was killed by gunfire from security forces during last year’s protests in Karaj.
Previously, members of Hadis Najafi’s family, including her father, mother, and siblings, had been detained and released after some time. These actions reflect ongoing pressure on the families of those killed in the protests, aiming to instill fear and intimidation among them.
Human rights activists emphasize the need to halt such actions and to address the cases of those who lost their lives in the protests.
