Aman Jalali Nejad, Jafar Salman Nejad, and Mehdi Memar, three political activists involved in a joint legal case, have been held in indefinite detention at Sheiban Prison in Ahvaz since April 8, 2024.

According to the Campaign for the Defense of Political and Civil Prisoners, these individuals, along with seven others, have been charged at the Ahvaz Revolutionary Court with offenses including propaganda against the regime and membership in opposition groups.

Despite over four months (144 days) since their arrest, no trial has been held for these three political activists, and they have been denied access to legal representation and the right to a fair trial.

Aman Jalali Nejad, 33, a teacher and member of the Amir Kabir Technical School Council in Ahvaz, was arrested on April 8, 2024. Jafar Salman Nejad, 26, and Mehdi Memar, a mechanical engineering student, were also detained earlier this year.

It is noteworthy that seven other defendants in this case have been released on bail.

The continued indefinite detention of these three political activists occurs amid their deprivation of basic rights, such as access to a lawyer and a fair trial, raising serious concerns about human rights violations and the suppression of political dissent in Iran.
