Zarrintaj (Parivash) Moshkin Qalam, a civil activist and political prisoner, has been released from Evin Prison after serving four months of imprisonment.
According to the Campaign for the Defense of Political and Civil Prisoners, Ms. Moshkin Qalam was released after completing her sentence, on the evening of Tuesday, August 20, 2024.
This 58-year-old civil activist was arrested by security forces in May of this year and transferred to the Intelligence Ministry’s detention center, known as Ward 209 of Evin Prison.
On May28, 2024, she was transferred to the women’s ward of Evin Prison, and in early August, she was sentenced to four months in prison by the Revolutionary Court.
The reason for Ms. Moshkin Qalam’s arrest was cited as her connection with one of the opposition groups to the regime. Additionally, after her arrest, security forces searched her home and confiscated some of her personal belongings.
It is notable that during her detention, Ms. Moshkin Qalam faced significant security pressures.
