Following the raid by military and security forces on Qaderabad village in Khash on July 29, 2024, and the arbitrary arrest of five villagers, three of the detainees were released on August 1, 2024.
According to the Campaign for the Defense of Political and Civil Prisoners, the released individuals are Saeed Mazarzehi, Majid Mazarzehi, and Malek Gomshadzehi, all residents of Qaderabad village. These individuals had previously been labeled by security officials as members of the group Jaish ul-Adl.
However, the fate of the other two detainees, Abdolghafour Gomshadzehi and Shahsavar Gomshadzehi, remains unknown. Additionally, reports indicate that Bahman Mazarzehi was released a few hours after his arrest.
Details surrounding the release of these three citizens are still unclear.
It should be noted that the military raid on Qaderabad village met with strong resistance from the locals, resulting in the death of one woman and injuries to several others. These events have once again raised concerns about widespread human rights violations in Baloch-populated areas of Iran.
Arbitrary arrests, torture, and threats are common tactics used against Iranian Baloch citizens. The international community and human rights organizations must respond to these incidents and urge the Iranian government to end such illegal actions and respect the fundamental rights of Balochis.
