Shirko Mam-Karimi, a resident of Bukan, has been sentenced to imprisonment and a heavy fine on charges related to recent protests.
According to the Campaign for the Defense of Political and Civil Prisoners, Shirko Mam-Karimi, one of the Bukan’s resident, has been convicted on charges of “assaulting a law enforcement officer,” “damage to public and government property,” and “disturbing public opinion.” He has been sentenced to three months of imprisonment and a heavy fine of 762 million tomans.
This verdict was issued following Mr. Mam-Karimi’s participation in the fortieth-day memorial ceremony for one of the victims of the recent protests on December 5, 2022.
After his arrest by security forces, he was temporarily released on a heavy bail of 2.5 billion tomans.
