145 Days Have Passed Since the Arrest of Shahram Ranjbar in Miandoab, and His Case Remains undecided

More than four months have passed since the arrest of Shahram Ranjbar, a resident of Miandoab, and he remains in a state of uncertainty.

According to the Campaign to Defend Political and Civil Prisoners, Ranjbar was arrested by security forces in Miandoab on Monday, January 22nd, 2024, and transferred to an unknown location.

Mr. Ranjbar, 27, a resident of the village of Gavmish Goli in the Miandoab district, was arrested by the Intelligence Department forces without a judicial.

As of the time of this report, there is no information about the detaining authority, the place of detention, or the charges against this citizen.

Arbitrary and illegal arrests, especially in Kurdish regions of Iran, are a common practice. These arrests are usually carried out without judicial warrants and are aimed at suppressing protests and political dissent.
