Rahim Ebrahimi, a Kurdish tradesman from the village of “Valio” in Sardasht County, lost his life following a military chase and subsequent fall into a river.
According to the Campaign for the Defense of Political and Civil Prisoners, the Kurdish tradesman died on Thursday, May 30, 2024, in the border areas of Sardasht (Qandil) during a pursuit by military forces. The 30-year-old Iranian Kurd was the father of three children.
His body was found by local residents near the “Khodraveh” fish farm on Saturday, June 1, 2024, after a two-day search and was transferred to the Sardasht Forensic Medicine Department.
It is worth noting that, as of the time this report was prepared, the tradesman’s body had not been handed over to his family.
The deaths of Kurdish porters and tradesmen due to border forces’ shootings, falls from heights, avalanches, drowning, and other causes have become a serious issue in Kurdish-populated areas of Iran.
According to human rights organizations, dozens of Kurdish porters and tradesmen lost their lives or were injured last year.
