Kamal Lotfi, the father of Reza Lotfi, one of the victims of the 2022 nationwide protests, remains in a state of uncertainty in Kamyaran Prison 43 days after his arrest.
According to the Campaign for the Defense of Political and Civil Prisoners, Mr. Lotfi was arrested by security forces on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, after receiving a summons to the Qorveh Revolutionary Court.
Kamal Lotfi was transferred to Kamyaran Prison on Thursday, May 16, 2024, after the completion of interrogation procedures. He had previously been arrested and transferred to Kamyaran Prison on April 17, 2023, following a beating, and was ultimately released on July 3 of the same year.
Mr. Lotfi’s family has approached security and judicial authorities to inquire about his status, but they have yet to receive a clear response regarding his fate.
Concerns about Mr. Lotfi’s health, as he suffers from a skin disease, have been growing.
