Mahnaz Tarah has a history of previous judicial and security encounters.
In recent years, we have witnessed an increasing trend of arrests, trials, and heavy sentences for civil activists in Iran. These individuals, who are active in various fields such as human rights, the environment, labor, women’s rights, ethnicities, etc., are constantly faced with baseless accusations such as anti-regime propaganda, social and national security conspiracy, insulting sanctities, etc., and end up in prison.
