Execution of Mosi Fazeli, Resident of Shahriar in Qom Prison

اعدام

On Tuesday April 30th, 2024, the sentence of a prisoner named Mosi Fazeli, who had been sentenced to capital punishment (execution) on charges of “intentional murder,” was carried out in Qom Central Prison.

According to the Campaign for the Defense of Political and Civil Prisoners, Fazeli was a resident of Shahriar and had been detained about three years ago on charges of intentional murder during a robbery and sentenced to capital punishment.

This prisoner had been transferred to one of the solitary cells of Qom Prison yesterday for the execution of the sentence. It is not known whether he had his last meeting with his family.

The execution of this prisoner has not been announced by Iranian media or official sources as of the time of reporting this news.

The lack of classification for intentional murder in Iran leads to the issuance of a death sentence for any type of murder, regardless of the severity, weakness, or motive of the accused.
