The death sentence of a prisoner named Yadollah Talbound was carried out in Khorramabad Central Prison.
According to the Campaign for the Defense of Political and Civil Prisoners, on March 17th, 2024, 43-year-old Talbound was sentenced to death for the intentional murder of Nasir Farrokhnejad (Roshanoo), a member of the Lorestan Lawyers Association.
It has been nearly a month since then, yet no media outlet inside Iran or official sources have reported it.
An informed source told the Iran Human Rights Organization that Talbound was a resident of the Masur neighborhood in Khorramabad and a military officer. He was accused of fatally stabbing Farrokhnejad two years ago.
The lack of categorization for intentional murder in Iran leads to any form of homicide, regardless of severity, weakness, or motive, resulting in a death sentence.
Human rights activists have condemned this execution and are calling for the abolition of the death penalty in Iran.
