Ali Bastaki, a resident of Sharzand, was detained and transferred to Arak Prison after appearing at Branch 101 of the Revolutionary Court of the city to serve his sentence.
According to the Campaign for the Defense of Political and Civil Prisoners, Mr. Bastaki was arrested and taken to prison on Saturday, April 6th, 2024.
Previously, on October 28th, 2023, during a court session, he defended himself against charges such as inciting people to riot, insulting officers and authorities, insulting the leadership, and propaganda against the system. Eventually, he was sentenced to three years in prison.
He was arrested and transferred to Arak Prison on September 17th, 2023. He was finally released on bail on November 7th, 2023.
This civil activist also has a history of detention in 2022, when he was released after twenty days following an amnesty decree.
