Mohammad Taher Hosseinpoor, an Iranian-Kurd from Naghadeh, has been sentenced to 13 years in prison by the first branch of the Revolutionary Court in Mahabad, headed by Judge Dousti.
According to the Campaign for the Defense of Political and Civil Prisoners, this citizen’s charges include “warfare and membership and collaboration with one of the opposition Kurdish parties against the Iranian government.”
The verdict was delivered to him in Naghadeh Prison in March 2024.
Mr. Hosseinpoor was arrested by security forces without a judicial warrant on Thursday, August 22nd, 2022. After 40 days of interrogation at a security detention center, he was transferred to Naqadeh Prison.
During his detention and interrogation, he has been deprived of the right to have a lawyer and temporary release.
Previously, in October 2021, Mr. Hosseinpoor was sentenced by the Naqadeh Revolutionary Court to 15 months in prison on charges of “destroying public property” and “participating in the August 2021 protests by the people of Naqadeh.”
