Dana Langabadi, a civil activist and former Kurdish political prisoner, was arrested by security forces in Marivan and transferred to the intelligence office of the city for a one-month detention period for interrogation.
According to the Campaign for the Defense of Political and Civil Prisoners, Dana Langabadi, a civil activist and former Kurdish political prisoner, was detained by Islamic Republic’s security forces in Marivan on Tuesday, February 20th, 2024. He was arrested without presenting any legal documentation.
This former political prisoner was charged with “propaganda against the system” at the Marivan Public and Revolutionary Court on Thursday, February 22nd, 2024. He was then given a one-month detention order, leading to his return to the detention center of the Marivan Intelligence Office.
It is worth mentioning that Dana Langabadi was previously sentenced by the Marivan Revolutionary Court in 2012 to one year and eight months in prison and 50 lashes on charges of “propaganda against the system” and “disturbing public order”.
Later, by intelligence agency, he was black listed and was deprived of continuing his education at the Payam-e Noor University in Marivan.
