Sepideh Rashnu, a civil rights activist opposed to compulsory hijab, has been sentenced to three years and eleven months in prison by the appeals court. The case of this civil activist has been referred for implementation.
According to the Campaign for the Defense of Political and Civil Prisoners, in recent days, Sepideh Rashnu, a civil rights activist opposed to compulsory hijab, has been sentenced to three years and eleven months in prison.
In her Instagram story, this student and civil rights activist announced that she has also been banned from leaving the country as soon as the sentence is executed, stating, “Of course, this travel ban is for someone who has no intention of leaving.”
According to Sepideh Rashnu, she has been sentenced to three years and seven months in prison for the charges in her first case and respectively to four months in prison and a fine of one and a half million tomans in her second and third cases.
She emphasized that in the coming days, she will present herself for the implementation of the total sentence of three years and eleven months in prison.
Sepideh Rashnu was arrested on July 16th, 2022, following her protest against compulsory hijab and resistance against security forces, and was forced to confess in front of the camera.
