The three-year imprisonment sentence for Shahab Nazari, a resident of Izeh, was confirmed by the 14th branch of the Court of Appeal of Khuzestan Province on Wednesday January 31st, 2023.
According to the Campaign for the Defense of Political and Civil Prisoners, the Khuzestan Court of Appeals confirmed the three-year sentence for Shahab Nazari, a citizen of Izeh.
Mr. Nazari was previously sentenced by the first branch of Ahvaz Revolutionary Court to two years in prison for “insulting the leadership position” and one year in prison for “propaganda against the regime”, for a total of three years in prison. By applying Article 134 of the Islamic Penal Code, two years of imprisonment will be applicable for this citizen.
In another part of his case, Mr. Nazari was sentenced to one year and 91 days in prison by Ahvaz Criminal Court.
Mr. Nazari’s accusations include “insulting the leadership position”, “propaganda against the system” and “spreading lies”.
Mr. Nazari was arrested by the security forces in Ahvaz on April 22nd, 2023. He was released after 29 days by posting bail.
Shahab Nazari, born in 2000, is the son of Ali Mohammad Magdar, a resident of Izeh.
