According to the Campaign for the Defense of Political and Civil Prisoners, the latest news from Ghezel Hesar prison in Karaj indicates that the prison guard attacked political prisoners in the fourth ward of this penitentiary on Sunday January 28th, 2024. Reason for the attack was their sit-in protest against the impending execution of the four Kurdish political prisoners.
Currently, the prison guards are armed and stationed in the courtyard of this prison.
Today, the special guard forces attacked the political prisoners inside the Ghezel Hesar prison and these prisoners chanted the slogans “Death to Khamenei”, “Death to the dictator” and “Khamenei Zahak, we will pull you down to the grave”.
During this attack, the belongings of the political prisoners were destroyed and several of them were severely beaten by the prison guards.
