The death sentence of three prisoners, two of whom were sentenced to death on charges related to “narcotics” and the other on charges of “deliberate murder”, were performed in Shiraz Central Prison (Adel Abad) and Shiraz Pir-Bano Prison.

According to the Campaign for the Defense of Political and Civil Prisoners, two men named Fazel Shafiei, 40 years old, and Morteza Nadimi, 35 years old, were executed in Shiraz Central Prison (Adel Abad). These two prisoners were sentenced to death on charges related to “narcotics”.

An informed source about the execution of these two prisoners told Iran Human Rights Organization: “Fazel Shafiei and Morteza Nadimi were transferred from Ward 11 of Adel Abad prison to solitary confinement.” Fazel Shafiei was arrested four years ago and Morteza Nadimi two years ago on drug charges and sentenced to death.

In addition to these two prisoners, another prisoner was executed in Pir-Bano prison in Shiraz on Wednesday morning January 24th, 2024.
