The death sentence of a prisoner named Sajad Haqizadeh, who was sentenced to death on charges related to “drugs”, was executed in Khorramabad Central Prison (Parsilon).
According to the Campaign for the Defense of Political and Civil Prisoners, a prisoner named Sajjad Haqizadeh, 37 years old from Kohdasht, was executed in Parsilon prison in Khorramabad on the morning of Tuesday December 12th, 2023.
According to this report, Sajjad Haqizadeh was sentenced to death by the judicial system three years ago for drug-related crimes.
The execution of this prisoner has not been announced by the Iranian media or official sources as of writing this news.
The execution of prisoners who have been executed on “drug” related charges has increased continuously every year for the past three years. Compared to the first six months of 2022, when 91 people were executed on drug-related charges, this year has seen a 126% increase and 206 executions have been registered with this charge.
