Azam Gholami Zahab, a resident of Mashhad, was acquitted of the imputed charges and released from Vakil Abad prison of this city.
According to the Campaign for the Defense of Political and Civil Prisoners, Azam Gholami Zahab, a resident of Mashhad, was acquitted of the imputed charges by the Khorasan Razavi province appeals court and released from Vakil Abad prison on Thursday October 26th, 2023.
An informed source close to the citizen’s family said: “Ms. Gholami Zahab was acquitted in Branch 35 of the Court of Appeal of Khorasan Razavi province on Wednesday October 25th. She was released day after from Vakil Abad prison in Mashhad on October 26th, 2023.”
Previously, Ms. Gholami Zahab was sentenced to ten years in prison by the fifth branch of the Revolutionary Court of Mashhad for the charge of “forming a group with the aim of disrupting the security of the country”, for the charge of “gathering and conspiring against the regime” to five years, and for “propaganda against the regime” she was sentenced to one year in prison, a total of sixteen years in prison.
