Armita Garavand (born in January 2007) is a 16-year-old girl living in Tehran who was unconscious after an accident in the Tehran subway on October 1st, 2023 and was admitted to Fajr Hospital, affiliated to the Army University of Medical Sciences, and is in a coma. she is an 11th grade student at a conservatory in Tehran.
According to the Campaign for the Defense of Political and Civil Prisoners, Armita Garavand, a 16-year-old girl, enters Shahada Square metro station to go to school at 7 am on Sunday October 1st, 2023.
While all of them had removed their mandatory hijabs, they entered the women’s car. As soon as they entered, a veiled woman wearing a hijab (affiliated to the headquarters of Amr Be Maruf and Basij of Tehran Municipality) said sharply, “Put on your hijab,” which Armita says: “I won’t” and immediately this lady pushes her, causing her head to hit the edge of the train door and split, bleeding and fainting.
In the metro, a passenger’s doctor gave her CPR (resuscitation), which was unsuccessful, and after 40 minutes, she was transferred to Fajr Hospital (belonging to the Air Force) by ambulance.
According to “reliable sources”, when she arrived at the hospital, she had no signs of consciousness and only her heart was beating, which after a CT scan, the diagnosis of cerebral hemorrhage following a concussion is given.
According to medical sources, the chances of her survival are very low.
