Two citizens living in Tehran were sentenced to a total of 9 years and 8 months in prison. This sentence has been issued due to charges such as gathering and collusion with the intention of committing a crime against the country’s security, propaganda activity against the system and community, and collusion with the intention of committing a crime against the country’s security.
According to the Campaign for the Defense of Political and Civil Prisoners, Siamak Ebrahimi and Shahrukh Ahmadi, living in Tehran, were sentenced to a total of 9 years and 8 months in prison by the Revolutionary Court of this city.
According to the verdict issued by the twenty-sixth branch of the Tehran Revolutionary Court headed by Judge Iman Afshari and delivered to Irfan Karam Veisi, the defense lawyer of these citizens, Mr.
Ebrahimi was sentenced to five years in prison on the charge of “gathering and collusion with the intention of committing a crime against the security of the country and eight months in prison for the charge of “propaganda activity against the regime”. Also, Mr. Ahmadi has been sentenced to four years in prison on the charge of “assembly and collusion with the intention of committing a crime against the security of the country”.
If this sentence is approved in the appeal stage and Article 134 of the Islamic Penal Code is applied, the severe punishment of five years of imprisonment will be applicable to Mr. Ebrahimi.
The court hearing on the accusations of these people was held on July 17th, 2023.
Siamak Ebrahimi and Shahrokh Ahmadi, residence of Tehran, were arrested by the security forces on February 7th, 2023. They were released from Evin prison after posting 700 million tomans bail.
