Be the voice of Zeinab Jalalian/ She is the first female Iranian-Kurdish political prisoner who was sentenced to life imprisonment. She is in her 16th year of imprisonment without a single day of temporary leave in Yazd prison.
According to the Campaign for the Defense of Political and Civil Prisoners, Zeinab Jalalian was sentenced to death in 2008 on charges of “warfare” through being a member of the Pejak group. Her sentence was reduced to life imprisonment in 2010.
Zainab Jalalian has been in prison since 2006 and has the heaviest sentence (life imprisonment) among female political prisoners.
This Kurdish political prisoner has been deported to Yazd prison without a single day of leave while suffering from oral and dental, kidney and digestive diseases and is at risk of complete blindness due to eye diseases following severe torture.
For the past sixteen years, she has been imprisoned in Kermanshah, Evin, Khoi, Qarchak, Kerman and Yazd prisons under various deprivations and tortures.
