Civil activist Arash Sadeghi was sentenced to four years and three months in prison by the Tehran Revolutionary Court. This sentence has been issued for accusations such as gathering and collusion and propaganda activity against the regime.
According to the Campaign for the Defense of Political and Civil Prisoners, Arash Sadeghi’s lawyer announced that he was sentenced to four years and three months in prison at the Tehran Revolutionary Court.
Ramin Safarnia announced in a tweet that after the plea and the hearing, Tehran Revolutionary Court Branch 26 sentenced Arash Sadeghi to three years and seven months in prison for the charge of “gathering and collusion” and to eight months in prison for “propaganda activity against the regime”.
Arash Sadeghi, was sentenced to five years in prison for ” gathering and collusion”, eight months in prison for propaganda activity against the regime”, also banned from leaving the country, banned from Tehran and the northern and neighboring provinces for two years, banned from working in cyber space and banned from membership in political and social parties and groups for two years by the 26th branch of the Revolutionary Court in February 2023.
Arash Sadeghi has been arrested and imprisoned many times in Iran due to his activities in defense of human rights.
On December 2nd, 2022, United Nations human rights experts, expressing concern over the deteriorating health condition of Arash Sadeghi, who was imprisoned at the time, demanded his immediate release from prison.
