Police force of Aliabad Katul from Golestan province arrested a cyberspace activist. He has been arrested on the charge of “publishing falsehoods with the intention of disturbing the public mind”.
According to the Campaign for the Defense of Political and Civil Prisoners, on Monday, March 27th, 2023, a cyberspace activist was arrested and sent to prison by police officers in Aliabad Katul city of Golestan province on the charge of “spreading falsehoods with the intention of disturbing the public mind”.
Col. Hossein Nowrozi, police chief of Aliabad Katul, while announcing this news, claimed: “Following the monitoring and watching the cyberspace, it was found that a person has set up a page with the intention of disturbing the public’s mind by publishing false content, which is a special issue. The issue was placed on the agenda of FATA police and public security police of the city.”
Police Commander Ali Abadkatol added: “After obtaining judicial permission, the accused was arrested during an operation and after filing a case, he was presented to the judicial authorities.”
