The 9-Year Imprisonment Sentence for Saeed Madani was Confirmed in Tehran Province Appeals Court

The 9-year sentence for Saeed Madani, a writer, sociologist and former political prisoner, was confirmed by the Court of Appeal in Tehran.

According to the Campaign for the Defense of Political and Civil Prisoners, in recent days, the 9-year prison sentence for Saeed Madani, a writer, sociologist and former political prisoner, was confirmed. He was previously tried in the Tehran Revolutionary Court and sentenced to eight years and one year in prison, respectively.

According to the report, the 9-year prison sentence for Saeed Madani, a writer, sociologist and former political prisoner, was confirmed by the Court of Appeal in Tehran, and with the application of Article 134 of the Islamic Penal Code, eight years will be applicable to Mr.
Madani.

Saeed Madani was arrested by the security forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran on Monday May 16th, 2022. He was sentenced to eight years and one year in prison by Branch 29 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court headed by Judge Seyed Ali Mazloum for the charges of forming and managing anti-regime groups and propaganda against the regime of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Mr. Madani was transferred to ward 4 of Evin prison after two months of detention in security ward 209 of Evin prison.

Saeed Madani, professor of sociology in the field of social harms, in his last article entitled “One Hundred Years and One Hundred Days” which he wrote in prison, analyzed and examined the revolutionary uprising of Gina.
