The verdicts issued by the Qom Revolutionary Court against Zeinab Mousavi, the Iranian comedian and creator of the “Emperor of Cuzco” character, were confirmed by the Court of Appeal.
According to the Campaign for the Defense of Political and Civil Prisoners, in recent days, the prison sentence for Zainab Mousavi, the Iranian comedian and creator of the “Emperor of Cuzco” character, was confirmed in the appeals court.
She had previously announced that she spent 25 days in solitary confinement during her detention and was sentenced to two years in prison.
Zainab Mousavi, one of the first female stand-up comedy presenters in Iran and the creator of the “Emperor of Cuzco” character, was arrested by the security forces in Qom on October 12th, 2022 and released on bail in November.
At the time of writing this report, there is no information about the charges against her.
