It should be mentioned that Nasim Sultanbeigi, a journalist for Iranian publications such as the monthly Bidari and Paivast, was arrested by the security forces while leaving the country and taken to prison on the morning of Wednesday, January 11th, 2023.
Previously, this journalist was sentenced to six years of imprisonment by the 15th branch of the Revolutionary Court on November 30th, 2010.
This sentence included 3 years of imprisonment for “actions against national security” and one year for “propaganda against the regime”, to which two years of suspended sentence were added from 2006.
According to statistics, more than 66 journalists have been arrested since the start of nationwide protests in Iran after the suspicious death of #Mehsa_Amini.
