Taghi Rahmani, the husband of Narges Mohammadi, a human rights activist and spokeswoman for the Defenders of Human Rights Association, announced in a note on his personal page that his wife had been taken to hospital.
According to the Campaign for the Defense of Political and Civil Prisoners, Taghi Rahmani, the husband of Narges Mohammadi, a human rights activist and spokeswoman for the Defenders of Human Rights Center, announced that she had been taken to hospital due to “respiratory problems.”
According to the report, the human rights activist was arrested by security forces in Karaj in November 2021. She transferred to Qarchak Prison in Varamin shortly before her solitary confinement in Evin Prison Ward 209.
Ms. Mohammadi’s husband, Taghi Rahmani, wrote in a note on his personal page: “Respiratory problems were the cause of this transfer. We do not know her exact condition.”
Narges Mohammadi was arrested by security forces in Karaj during a commemoration ceremony for the second anniversary of the death of Ebrahim Ketabdar, one of the victims of the November 2019 protests on November 16th, 2021. She was sent to Evin Court to be informed of the charges on November 22nd, 2021. She was again returned to solitary confinement.
Also on December 29th, 2021, her home was searched by security forces and some of her personal belongings were confiscated. Earlier, Taghi Rahmani had announced the continuation of the detention and indecision of Narges Mohammadi in one of the solitary confinement cells in Ward 209 of Evin Prison and the filing of new charges against her.
