Zamaneh Zivieh and Meqdad (Kardukh) Hassannejad were detained by security forces and taken to an unknown location.
According to the Campaign for the Defense of Political and Civil Prisoners, two residences of Saqez, Zamaneh Zivieh and Meqdad (Kardukh) Hassannejad, were arrested by security forces and taken to an unknown location on Saturday, January 29th, 2022.
As of this writing, despite families of these two citizens follow-up, no information is available on the exact location of the detention and the charges against them.
Zivieh, a law graduate, was tried before on 2018, on charges of “acting against national security,” “participating in illegal gatherings,” and “disturbing public order” by supporting the independence of the Iraqi Kurdish region and sentenced to fifty lashes in public and one million and eight hundred thousand tomans fine. Ms. Zivieh’s fine was upheld by an appeals court, and her sentence of 50 lashes was suspended for three years.
