The commander of Iran’s Environmental Protection Unit announced the confirmation and announcement of the death sentence for Boroumand Najafi, a Kermanshahi environmentalist, by the Supreme Court of Iran.
According to the Campaign for the Defense of Political and Civil Prisoners, the death sentence of Kermanshahi environmentalist Boroumand Najafi, was upheld by the Supreme Court.
According to this report, Colonel Jamshid Mohabbatkhani said: “Despite legal proceedings and the efforts of group of lawyers defending the case of environmentalists Boroumand Najafi, regarding the death of a person in the protected area of Biston in Kermanshah province, the Supreme Court, confirmed the judgment of the Court of First Instance announced it.
According to the ISNA news agency, during the confrontation between the executive forces of the Environmental Protection Unit and the occupants of a vehicle in the Biston protected area, one of the occupants was shot dead on August 4th, 2020.
