Omar Yaghoubi and Salah Shahmoradi were wounded after the Border Regiment opened fire in the Nosud border areas without warning.
According to the Campaign for the Defense of Political and Civil Prisoners, Omar Yaghoubi from the village of “Kalash Baghan” and Salah Shahmoradi from the village of “Ziran” in the city of Javanrood were wounded by a direct fire from the military on the evening of Sunday, January 2nd, 2022.
According to the report, the two porters were shot by the military without prior notice and were taken to a medical center for medical treatment.
The three provinces of Kurdistan, Kermanshah and West Azerbaijan on Iran’s border with Iraq and Turkey are the main destinations for people who work as porter due to lack of employment and widespread economic problems.
Dozens of porters are killed or injured every year by direct fire from border guards, cold, drowning in rivers and falls from heights.
