Sadollah Sasani, an Azerbaijani Turk activist was transferred from the detention facility of the Tabriz Intelligence Department to the quarantine ward of the city’s prison.
According to the Campaign for the Defense of Political and Civil Prisoners, Sadollah Sasani, an Azerbaijani Turk activist who was arrested by Tabriz intelligence agents on Thursday, October 1st (2020), and held in the detention facility of this security organ, was transferred to the quarantine ward of Tabriz Central Prison after being interrogated and charged.
This Azerbaijani Turk activist was detained following a “public outcry against the actions of Armenian forces in the Nagorno-Karabakh region.”
Sadollah Sasani, a citizen residing in Tabriz (East Azerbaijan Provence), was beaten by security forces during his detention, credible sources say.
Earlier, on Thursday, July 16 (2020), Sadollah Sasani, along with Yasamin Zafari and Rahim Sasani, were arrested in front of the Consulate of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Tabriz.
These Azerbaijani Turk activists were released from prison after two weeks in the evening of Wednesday, July 29 on bail of 100 million Tomans, until the end of the trial.
At the court of first instance, the charges against them were “assembly and conspiracy against national security” and “disturbing public order.”
