Amad News reporter Shirin Najafi has reportedly been arrested in Turkey in recent days.
According to the Campaign for the Defense of Political and Civil Prisoners, Shirin Najafi, a journalist and member of the Amad News media editorial office, was arrested by security forces in Turkey.
Parviz Yari, a freelance journalist, confirmed the news on his Twitter account and wrote that a source in the Ankara Security Office, who did not want to be named, told him: “Shirin Najafi is not the only detainee in recent days in Turkey, and other Iranians have been arrested as well.”
According to Mr. Yari, Shirin Najafi was detained by security forces while traveling with a fake ID card.
“In recent days, at least seven Iranian citizens have been arrested in Ankara on charges of fraud, money laundering and links to Iran’s security services,” an informed source at the Ankara Security Office told Parviz Yari.
