Two Kurdish women citizens from Urmia were tried in the Second Branch of the Revolutionary Court of this city.
On Tuesday, July 21st, 2020, Shahnaz (Brivan) Sadeghifar and her daughter Ainaz Zare were tried in the Second Branch of the Revolutionary Court of Urmia, presided over by Judge Sheikhlou, on charges of “membership in a Kurdish opposition party to the Iranian government.” Shahnaz (Brivan) Sadeghifar was sentenced to 15 years in prison, but her daughter has not yet been notified of her sentence.
According to Kurdpa, “Shahnaz (Brivan) Sadeghifar” and her daughter returned to Iran through the Baneh border after three years of membership in a Kurdish opposition party to the Iranian government and given amnesty in September last year, but they were arrested by security forces.
It is said that the two Kurdish citizens were transferred to the Urmia Intelligence Detention Center after being detained by security forces and were interrogated for two months.
