Shahram Safari, a journalist and media activist from Kermanshah, was sentenced to 91 days in prison for publishing statistics on the occurrence of coronavirus. This verdict was issued by Branch 101 of the 2nd Criminal Court of Kermanshah on charges of spreading lies and disturbing the public opinions. Two other charges against the journalist are being investigated.
According to the Campaign for Defense of Political and Civil Prisoners, Shahram Safari, a journalist from Kermanshah, was sentenced to 91 days in prison by the judiciary.
According to the report, the case was filed against him by the Information and Security Police and Kermanshah University of Medical Sciences.
On Monday, April 13th, 2020, Mr. Safari, the director of the Ravig Press Telegram Channel, with a complained from the University of Medical Sciences about after being summoned to the Kermanshah Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor’s Office, was temporarily released on 60 million Tomans bail until the end of the his case process.
