Massoud Hokmabadi, a theater producer and artist living in Mashhad, was sentenced to prison by Iranian judicial authorities for preventing him from attending the Fajr Festival.
According to the Campaign for the Defense of Political and Civil Prisoners, Massoud Hokmabadi, a theater producer and artist living in Mashhad, was sentenced to prison terms.
Mr. Hokmabadi had previously refused to attend the Fajr Festival in response to the deadly targeting of the Tehran-Kiev passenger plane by the armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and had been detained by the city’s security agents.
Mr. Hokmabadi was charged with “propaganda against the regime” and “insulting the founder of the Islamic Republic” and was sentenced to three years in prison.
Massoud Hokmabadi, an artist from Mashhad, was arrested by security forces on Saturday January 20th, 2020.
