A number of Instagram activists living in Mashhad were summoned and detained by security forces.
According to the Campaign for Defense of Political and Civil Prisoners, a number of cyberspace activists living in Mashhad who were active on Instagram after being summoned were arrested by the Mashhad Intelligence and Security Police on Wednesday, June 3rd, 2020.
According to Iranian media reports, these citizens, who had a total of more than 700,000 followers on their virtual pages, faced accusations such as publishing vulgar photos, images and videos on their personal pages.
The security and judicial organizations of Mashhad claimed that the arrest of these virtual media activists was a continuation of the crackdown on vulgarity and bigotry in cyberspace in Khorasan Razavi province.
