Kajvan Azadian, an environmental activist and student of Payame Noor University in Marivan was arrested and taken to the city’s prison.
According to the Campaign for the Defense of Political and Civil Prisoners, today, Wednesday, May 27th, 2020, “Kajvan Azadian”, a student and resident of Yangijeh village in Marivan city, after appearing before Criminal Procedure Unit of the Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor’s Office, was arrested and taken to city’s prison to serve his 2 months prison sentence.
It should be noted that on May 18th, 2018, “Kajvan Azadian”, was arrested by the security forces in the city of Marivan on charges of collaborating with one of the Kurdish opposition parties in the Iranian government.
This environmental activist was released on bail after completing the interrogation process and charge was communicated to him on May 22nd, 2018.
Kajvan Azadian was sentenced by in initial court to one year in prison on charges of collaborating with a Kurdish opposition party to the Iranian government. The sentence was reduced to two months in a Kurdistan Court of Appeals.
