Akbar Naimi, a resident of Khoy city who was detained by security forces at his workplace in Tehran, remains in the Evin Prison Ministry’s Intelligence Multi-Cell Ward 209 after a month. Reportedly, Case interrogator is preventing the release of the Turkish (Azerbaijani) activist despite 200 million Tomans bail.
According to the Campaign for the Defense of Political and Civil Prisoners, Akbar Naimi, a Turkish (Azerbaijani) activist who was detained in January 2020, remains in custody in Ward 209 of Ministry of Intelligence in Evin Prison, despite the change of arrest to bail.
On Tuesday, February 18th, 2020, Mr. Naimi in a briefed communication with his family reported on the continuation of his detention at the Ministry of Intelligence ward 209.
According to the report, despite the change of temporary arrest warrant for the citizen, to a 200 million Tomans bail, and the family’s effort on providing the bail money for his temporary release, the prosecutor refuses to accept the bail for the reason of incomplete case.
On Wednesday, January 22nd, 2020, Akbar Naimi was arrested by security forces at his workplace in Tehran.
After the arrest, security forces searched Mr. Naimi house and seized some of his personal items, such as laptops and books.
