According to a spokesman for the judiciary, Morad Tahbaz and Niloufar Bayani were each sentenced to 10 years in prison and “refusing to receive funds” for “cooperating with the US belligerent government”. Hooman Jokar and Taher Ghadirian were each sentenced to 8 years in prison for “cooperating with the US belligerent government”. Sam Rajabi Tabriz and Hamideh Kashani Pour were each sentenced to 6 years in prison for the same charges.
In this case, Amir Hossein Khalegi Hamidi was sentenced to 6 years in prison for “espionage” and Abdolreza Kohpayeh to 4 years in prison for “gathering and conspiracy to act against national security”.
The last hearing of the environmental activist’s trial was held at the Tehran Revolutionary Court on October 22nd, 2019.
