Homayoun Parhizkar, a resident of Noshahr, was sentenced to 16 and a 1/2 years in prison and 74 lashes, in a verdict issued by Branch 15 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court, chaired by Judge Abolghasem Salavati. This citizen was arrested in July of 2019 by security forces in the city of Noshahr with “physical violence”.
According to the Campaign for Defense Political and Civil Prisoners, Homayoun Parhizkar, in a ruling by Branch 15 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court, chaired by Judge Salavati on charges of “gathering and collusion against the system”, “blasphemy”, “propaganda against the system” and “insulting the founder of the Islamic Republic and the Supreme Leader” was sentenced to 16 and 1/2 years in prison and 74 lashes for “insulting the authorities”.
According to a court ruling that was received by Mr. Parhizkar on December 25TH, 2019 he was sentenced to 7 and 1/2 years in prison for “gathering and collusion against the system”, 5 and a 1/2 years in prison for “blasphemy”, ۱ year in prison for “propaganda against the system”, ۲ and 1/2 years in prison for “insulting the founder of the Islamic Republic and the Supreme Leader’ , and 74 of lashes for “insulting the authorities”. If these sentences become final, based on Article 134 of the Islamic Penal Code, he must serve 7 years of these sentences in prison.
Mr. Parhizkar was arrested at around 2 PM on Saturday, July 6th, 2019, while he and his mother were out shopping on one of the streets of downtown Noshahr, by security forces ” with physical violence.”
An informed source told the Campaign: “Mr. Parhizkar was taken to his home after being detained by agents for the house search. Later, after his charges were communicated to him and the temporary arrest warrant was confirmed at the Noshahr Public Prosecutor’s Office and Revolutionary Branch, he was taken to ward 1-A of Revolutionary Guard Detention Center in Tehran for interrogation. “
This residence of Noshahr was released on bail after 20 days of detention and after final charges were communicated to him in the second branch of the Evin Security Prosecutor’s Office headed by interrogator Nassiripour.
It should be noted that Yassin Jamali Kasrineh, Ataollah Rezaei and Amir Pourang Sarmadi Tehrani, the other “defendants” in the case, were sentenced to 14, 8, and 8 years in prison respectively by the Revolutionary Court Branch 15 chaired by Judge Salavati on December 25th, 2019.
